Is corduroy durable enough for skateboarding?
Yes! Not all corduroy is created equal. These pants are made from a heavy-duty 10.9 oz., 8-wale cotton corduroy specifically chosen by Dickies and Tom Knox to withstand the heavy wear and tear of skateboarding and grip tape.
How do the Tom Knox pants fit compared to the standard Dickies 874?
While inspired by the classic 874, these are updated with a slightly more relaxed fit and a stretchy, drawstring waistband. This gives you much more breathing room and mobility for skating without needing to size up excessively like you might with rigid traditional work pants.
What does the DWR finish do?
DWR stands for Durable Water Repellent. It is a special coating applied to the fabric that makes water bead up and roll off instead of soaking in. It’s perfect for keeping you dry if you're skating spot-to-spot in a light drizzle or dealing with morning dew at the park.
Do these shrink in the wash?
Because they are 100% cotton, there can be very minimal shrinkage if washed in hot water or dried on high heat. To preserve the corduroy texture, the DWR coating, and the fit, we recommend washing them inside out on a cold cycle and tumble drying on low or hanging them to dry.
