La baraja "Skull & Sword" de Rodríguez fue la primera baraja con un diseño exclusivo de un profesional producida por Powell-Peralta. El diseño fue concebido por Ray e ilustrado por VC Johnson con la dirección artística de George Powell en 1979.
Inicialmente se lanzó en dos formas claramente diferentes: una versión "Widetail" de 10" x 30" y una "Snub Nose" de 10" x 28,5", y se presentó en amarillo Dayglo "Brite-Lite", naranja, violeta y verde. En los años siguientes, se fabricó en varios colores diferentes y se agregó un logotipo de Powell-Peralta. En 1983, se eliminó la firma de Ray y se reemplazó con un logotipo en cursiva de Powell-Peralta. El gráfico también se usó para camisetas y calcomanías.
