Don't Get Wheelbite. How to Choose the Right Skate Trucks

You’ll snap a dozen decks and burn through sets of wheels, but a good pair of trucks will stay with you for years. They are the steering wheel and the suspension of your skateboard. But with sizes like 139, 144, and 149 floating around, how do you know which ones fit your board?

The Golden Rule of Sizing: "It’s simple: the axle of your truck should match the width of your deck. If you ride an 8.0" deck, you want a 139mm truck (Independent) or a 147mm (Thunder). If your trucks are too wide, you’ll kick them while pushing. Too narrow? Your board will feel like it wants to tip over."

High vs. Low: "Riding big wheels (54mm+) for speed or transition? Get High trucks so your wheels don't bite into your board when you turn. Skating technical street with small wheels (50mm)? Low trucks give you a quicker pop."
